On 6 September 8 Mr. Daniel Horacio Nanni delivered three courses on international transport of dangerous goods in the sea forms, land and air respectively.
activity requested Commission Centroamericana de Transporte Marítimo (COCATRAM) by the Committee on International Transport User Charges Guatemala (CUTRIGUA) were conducted on the premises of the Guatemalan Association of Exporters (ARGEXPORT).
There were a number of thirty-seven (37) participants for the three courses all from the private sector, except a participant of the National Port Commission of Guatemala.
This was an unreleased activity prepared especially at the request of the CUTRIGUA which underwent many changes during the period of preparation and even had to make changes during the dictation of activities.
However despite all the setbacks and changes made during the course of the event can be seen that the results were very satisfying.
Note that the difficulty that exists in Central America is particularly the transport of dangerous goods by road as in most countries there are no current regulations that meet the admissions criteria, nor that there is harmonization between countries that make this type of transport and also its laws are based on criteria established by the United Nations.
our Association's recommendations is the urgent need to make a funded consultancy by some international agencies and conducted by an expert on the subject in various Central American countries to assess the standards of each one of those countries and propose to carry out a post-workshop evaluation of the existing problem with the participation of all State organanismos responsible for regulating the issue of road transport of dangerous goods.
